Miners established the Goat Trail to provide access to the gold-mining areas of the interior, including the Chisana district. There is only a path for part of the route. This is a sometimes challenging trek that covers a wide range of terrain including the magnificent Chitistone Valley. This trail includes difficult stream crossings, steep scree slopes, and route finding. You should be experienced and confident in your ability to cross deep and swift streams. One section of the route includes traversing on steep scree slopes that include a bit of exposure. There is a path across the slopes, but it is thin and not maintained.
