The Golconda Creek valley, better known simply as Bremner, is an ideal location for a base-camping trip. There are lots of options for day hikes including ridges, alpine lakes, open tundra, and historical walks to explore the remains of the area’s rich mining history. One of the hikes listed, Golden Pond, also makes a great overnight option. See the separate hike listings for difficulty, elevation gain, and distance, which are given for all hikes relative to WP-43, the cluster of buildings that remain from the old mining camp. This guide includes trails for Lucky Girl Ball Mill Site and Yellow Band Camp, Power Creek Lake, The Corner Pocket, and Golden Pond.
