This route is courtesy of former Colorado state senator Greg Brophy, an avid cyclist who grew up on a farm near Wray. When I asked him to share the best rides in the area, this 88-mile loop that includes three states and two time zones was at the top of his list. “The scenery is beautiful. The roads are quiet. But don’t be fooled,” he warned. “This ride is anything but ?at.” Indeed, with 2900 feet of climbing and the likelihood that at some point you’ll battle wind, this loop can be every bit as challenging as its high mountain brethren farther west.
