On the east shore of Lake Zoar, a long impoundment on the Housatonic River, this 605-acre Connecticut state park offers lake, brook, woods, and crest discovery. The park derives its name from the oral lore that places the sum the colonists paid to the Pootatuck Indians for the hunting and fishing rights here at one brass kettle.
