Wilderness Conservancy Park, Goat Range Park may not be as well known as these neighboring sanctuaries, but it is just as beautiful and ecologically important. Furthermore, Goat Range Park—unlike Valhalla and nearby Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park—doesn’t prohibit your fourlegged friend from visiting. But before your buddy gets his tail wagging out of control you might be thinking “Isn’t this grizzly country?” It is, but the Wilson Creek Trail stays out of prime griz habitat, shunning those coveted alpine meadows to run along a roaring waterway fed by surrounding glaciers. The highlights of this hike include a primeval cedar forest and divine solitude.
