The Thimble Mountain trails are perfect for an early-season or fall hike. The snow melts early here and the weather is almost always good. Grand Forks prides itself as being the sunshine capital of BC. But with all that sun comes heat. In summer, Thimble Mountain is bone-dry (we’re not talking dog bones here) and this hike can be a scorcher. But when the mercury settles in around 15° (that’s Celsius—we’re in Canada, remember?) and a dry breeze drifts down from the Granby Valley, oh, what a joy it is to ramble on these trails!
