Includes: Joffre Lakes. Roadside hot tanks by the Lillooet River, seasonally frequented by locals and man-eating mosquitoes. Keep swimwear handy. Users have cut a fiberglass septic tank in half to create two oval-shaped soaking tanks. The spring bubbles up at 129 degrees F/54 degrees C and feeds into the tubs, along with a cold water source, through sections of PVC pipe. One tank is squeezed inside an A-frame shelter, and the other sits across a small clearing in the woods. The land around St. Agnes Well, located near the practically deserted village of Skookumchuck, was once a large homestead. The property is still privately owned but is open to the public. The name Skookumchuck means “good water” in Chinook. currently offers topo maps from the entire United States.
