Includes: Singing Pass via the "Musical Bumps." A Shangri-La of soaking pools, near a remote road in the Coast Mountains. Swimwear seems the norm. Although the threat of landslides will always plague this fragile area, the water contamination problem has been solved. Meager Creek Hot Springs has been reopened on a limited basis as a day use only recreation site. The campground is now gone, but the Forest Service plans to build a new one down on Meager Creek Road. Also gone are the two cedar pools that were contaminated. They were replaced in 1999 by a single large pool built Japanese-style and lined with rocks. It measures a good 20 ft/6 m across. You might also find several rocklined, seasonal pools at the edge of the creek. An age-old forest spreads a green canopy above, and ferns border the causeways that were built to help protect the delicate ecosystem around the springs. currently offers topo maps from the entire United States.
