Getting to Wild Cow Springs Recreation site is part of the fun. The drive takes you up into the Hualapai Mountains, steadily climbing 3,000 feet above the Kingman Valley below. The mountains, covered in Gambel oak, ponderosa pines, and craggy granite rock, offer a nice respite during the hot summer months and a great escape year-round. The oaks blaze yellow in the fall; in winter, snow often blankets the mountains and provides smooth hills to toboggan. Spring sprinkles the forest floor with wildflowers.
