This loop on and below the east rim of Sycamore Canyon uses the Kelsey Trail to start and the Dorsey Trail to finish the loop. Highlights include cool hiking through tall ponderosa pines and views of rugged Sycamore Canyon. From the Kelsey Trailhead, follow the Kelsey Trail down a short but steep descent below the rim of Sycamore Canyon. After this descent, the trail heads generally west through mixed ponderosa pine and juniper forest, passing Kelsey Spring. Continuing to descend gradually, the trail heads south around an unnamed canyon, then turns northwest to reach Babes Hole Spring and the junction with the Dorsey Trail, 1 mile from the trailhead.
