This park is the granddaddy of all the incredible California state parks. Big Basin has wonderful camping, as well as tent cabins with interior wood stoves. Lovely Wastahi Campground is all walk-in tent campsites, with the farthest campsite 200 feet from the parking areas. Huckleberry is all walk-in as well, with the farthest site 50 feet from the parking. With Blooms Campground and Sempervirens Campground, Big Basin has another 102 developed campsites for RVs, but the park doesn’t feel at all crowded. The huge redwoods give Big Basin a certain eerie calm.
