The vineyards of the Sonoma-Napa area are world famous. Many of California’s premium wines are born in Napa Valley, and tours of the wineries here are a growing part of the tourism industry. If you want to avoid the crowded roads of the Napa tour and are willing to see the vineyards from a different perspective, you can canoe or kayak on the Russian River north of Santa Rosa, passing nearly 100 wineries between Guerneville and Cloverdale. But wineries are not the only attraction of Sonoma-Napa. The coastline from Jenner north to Point Arena is wild and glorious. The ocean pounds furiously against the headlands. Along the coast are fine beaches and Fort Ross, a restored Russian outpost established in 1812. Campgrounds included in this eTrail are: Gualala Point Regional Park, Salt Point State Park, Sonoma Coast State Beach, Cow Mountain Recreational Area, Blue Oak, Sheldon Creek, Lakeview, Clear Lake State Park, Lower Hunting Creek, Lake Sonoma, Austin Creek State Recreational Area, Bothe - Napa Valley State Park, Spring Lake Regional Park, and Sugarloaf Ridge State Park.
