This is a rugged but scenic hike past the popular, historic Reavis Ranch site and through remote country in the upper Fish Creek drainage. Start by hiking the Reavis Ranch Trail to the Reavis Ranch site (see the Reavis Ranch description for details). About a mile east of Plow Saddle, the Frog Tanks Trail goes right into the Fish Creek drainage—this will be your return route. You’ll pass the junction with the Reavis Gap Trail, and then enter Reavis Valley, the site of the old ranch. There is usually flowing water in the creek south of the ranch. Continue south on the Reavis Ranch Trail, past the junction with the Fireline Trail at 9.3 miles, to Reavis Saddle (12.2 miles) at the head of Reavis Creek. From the saddle, follow the Reavis Trail as it drops down Grave Canyon into Rogers Canyon.
