This popular hike follows the north end of the Reavis Ranch Trail to the historic Reavis Ranch, a working cattle ranch until the late 1960s. The Reavis Ranch was the only ranch within the Superstition Wilderness, and vehicle access to the ranch was via a long and winding road from Arizona Highway 88. After the USDA Forest Service bought the ranch, the ranch site and road corridor were added to the wilderness. Today the old road is maintained as a foot and horse trail, and the route makes a fine hike through the east-central portion of the Superstition Mountains.
