A manmade pool fed by natural hot spring water at a relatively popular campground. The campground at Virgin Valley is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts in northern Nevada. Unless you are here on a weekday in the off-season, don’t expect to have the place to yourself. A couple of old buildings (one a bathhouse) adjacent to the spring are closed to public use. The warm pond measures about 30 by 30 feet and has a nice sandy bottom. The temperature hovers around 85 to 90 degrees F., depending upon the time of year. A new stone patio and small stepladder make access easier. This pond serves as a welcome oasis to those traveling in the desert backcountry for extended periods, an excellent stopover point. Minimally developed.
