The Cascades are located just below the confluence of Tamarack Creek and Cascade Creek. The watercourse tumbles 500 feet down the sloping canyon wall and empties into the Merced River. Wildcat Falls is a tall, narrow, freefalling cataract on Wildcat Creek that drops off a solid wall of granite rock. Both waterfalls are dramatically different in size and appearance. Short paths lead to the base of the waterfalls.
