Mount Lee is recognizable around the world for the iconic Hollywood sign. This trip draws a steady stream of hikers to see the sign up close. Located at the western end of Griffith Park, Mount Lee also provides a stupendous view of Los Angeles and out to the Pacific Ocean. Don’t mix up this summit with nearby Mount Hollywood, which is not the site of the eponymous sign. PLEASE NOTE: As of 4/18/2017, the Beachwood gate is closed, so the Hollyridge Trail is no longer accessible from Beachwood. Fortunately, the Hollyridge Trail is still accessible from Canyon Drive (3200 Canyon Drive), Bronson Canyon / Brush Canyon Trail or from Griffith Observatory.
