A wilderness route from Palisade Ranger Station to Davis Spring. There is a fine vista spot along the way, and from here one can look out across the broad desert basin of the San Pedro Valley at the rugged Galiuro Mountains. The path then runs out onto a lofty spur ridge. An enormous block of bedrock crowns its top, and another scenic overlook waits at its eastern end. The trail follows dry streamcourses to reach an overhanging boulder covered with Apache petroglyphs. Several tortoises adorn the surface of the stone, along with intricate birds and a dog-shaped figure. Just a short distance beyond this rock, Pictograph Spring offers a steady supply of clear water in the bottom of the gulch.
