A little-used trail to the east rim of Oak Creek Canyon. Most of the trail is on a dry, south-facing slope, and the low chaparral brush allows good views. This is a good trail to hike on weekends and holidays when other trails are crowded. The trail follows the closed road down to Oak Creek, crosses the creek, and heads up the bed of Casner Canyon. There is no trail across the creek because of the damage from the massive flood in 1993. The key is to locate the mouth of Casner Canyon on the east side of the creek, downstream of the point where you first reach the creek; the topographic map, which shows the trail, may be useful.
