This is a trail along the base of Elden Mountain that provides access to the Elden Mountain–Dry Lake Hills trail system from Flagstaff. Go through the old gate into Buffalo Park and continue north on the straight road that goes to the gas-pipeline station at the north side of the park. The signed Oldham Trail starts just to the right (east) of the buildings, at a gap in the fence. The trail, now a footpath, descends the slopes of the mesa and heads northeast across the shallow valley below, directly toward Elden Mountain. The Oldham Trail meets the signed Pipeline Trail on the north side of the cleared gas-pipeline right-of-way and turns north to climb gradually along the west slopes of Elden Mountain. The Dry Lake Hills are visible to the northwest, and soon it is obvious that the trail is heading into the canyon between the Dry Lake Hills and Elden Mountain.
