The short hike into Palm Canyon reveals one of nature’s more alluring surprises. Tucked into a narrow abyss of the Kofa Mountains is a grove of naturally occurring palm trees. These, along with a few others in other secretive canyons of the Kofa Range, are thought to be the only palms native to Arizona. The name Kofa is an acronym adopted from the King of Arizona Mine in the southern end of the range.
