An easy, very short but informative nature trail. The Bettys Kitchen area is named after a small cafe that once stood here. This short loop walk following an old access road through a woodland of tamarisk, Fremont cottonwood, willow, screwbean and honey mesquite, and palo verde offers outstanding birdwatching. Common shorebirds include killdeer and spotted sandpiper. In the winter, look for mallards and cinnamon teal. Anglers try their luck for bluegill, largemouth bass, carp, flathead and channel catfish, and tilapia.
