A short nature trail to Squaw Lake. Like Betty’s Kitchen Trail, this is a favorite area with birders, especially in the winter and the spring. More than 200 species have been recorded in the area. Some of the summer residents include summer tanagers, southwestern willow flycatchers, vermilion flycatchers, and yellow-billed cuckoos. Frequent migrants include Townsend’s and black-throated gray warblers, western tanagers, and Lazuli buntings. The lake attracts mallards, northern pintails, and common mergansers. The endangered Yuma clapper rail may nest here too.
