A hike to the top of 7,601-foot Wabayuma Peak in the Wabayuma Peak Wilderness Area. The trail starts from the Wabayuma Peak Trailhead and climbs along the ridge crest to the northwest through low chaparral brush. This brush plant community is indicative of a warmer climate, which is common on south-facing slopes at this elevation. The views are spectacular right from the trailhead. After a gradual climb, the trail swings through a saddle with a few scattered ponderosa pines, which grow on cooler, north-facing slopes in the Hualapais.
