A hike to the highest point in the Chiricahua Wilderness in the Chiricahua Mountains. The trail heads northeast and ambles up through a lovely forest of oak, Apache and Chiricahua pine, and Arizona cypress. The route steepens, but you are treated to magnificent views across the Chiricahua Wilderness and Sulphur Springs Valley. At 2.3 miles, the trail passes through Salisbury Saddle and turns southeast. Generally following a ridge, it climbs over Little Baldy Mountain. As you continue to climb, the vegetation changes to Douglas fir, Engelmann spruce, and eventually some quaking aspen.
