This is a cool and scenic hike along the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, in Grand Canyon National Park. The trail, named for a park ranger killed in the line of duty, follows the rim west from Point Imperial. There are occasional views, but the thick alpine forest grows right to the edge most of the way. Nevertheless, you’ll see tooth-shaped Mount Hayden and the sharp spire of Sullivan Peak.
