On this trip, hikers can enjoy the beauty of Kings Creek Cascades and Falls, as well as the seclusion and serenity found on the other 3-plus miles of trail. This semiloop passes quiet Bench Lake and a junction with the trail to Sifford Lakes, which provides an additional diversion for hikers with extra time and energy. Wood steps lead southeast from the edge of the road to a dirt trail paralleling meadow-lined Kings Creek through a mixed forest of Western white pines, lodgepole pines, and red offers. Proceed around Lower Kings Creek Meadow, which harbors a small pond in early summer, to a junction, 0.5 mile from the trailhead. Continue straight ahead on the left-hand trail and travel north-east over a low ridge. Drop slightly to a signed, four-way junction.
