An easy walk to a historic hand-dug tunnel in Great Basin National Park. This area may be closed due to a large wildfire. Check with Great Basin National Park before planning this hike. The trail follows the old, closed jeep track across the meadow and up the hillside to the pass visible to the northwest. This is an easy, enjoyable walk with nice views of upper Strawberry Valley and the beautiful, forested slopes of Bald Mountain. When you reach the pass, go through the gate (please leave it as you found it) and walk down the road a short distance to the north. Look for mine tailings below to the left, then drop down the short slope.
