A day hike in the Santa Rosa Range, providing the closest vehicle access to the Summit Trail, plus access to the Santa Rosa–Paradise Peak Wilderness. The Santa Rosa Summit Trail goes both south and north from the trailhead; this hike describes the section to the south. The trail climbs the hillside to the southwest, then passes through a saddle after about 0.5 mile and climbs gradually along the sage-covered hillside. Another short steep section leads through a saddle at 7,000 feet; then the Summit Trail drops to Singas Creek. It is approximately 0.5 mile to Singas Creek Road, visible below.
