This route is ideal because of its proximity to Denver, making it very convenient. However, there is no signage except at trailheads and no trees, which can make it hot and windswept. It can also be treacherous if it has just rained due to its clay soil. Watch out for mountain bikers, who like to travel this route at high speeds. Grade: Easy at either end, with an overall average angle of ascent of three degrees. However, the ascent from the Florida Trailhead to the radio tower is at a seven degree angle of ascent. The trail is occasionally rocky during the same section. Also, look out for thick mud during the steep descent if it has rained recently.
