The fun increases as you descend. Many side roads and lakes to explore. Forest Service campgrounds available at upper end near larger lakes. Outstanding views from Windy Point into dramatic No Name Canyon. Stunning views of Glenwood Springs near the bottom. Trail can be driven in either direction. Several challenging side trails at southern end are for ATVs only (see map). Very steep and narrow in spots but only mildly rocky. No major hardcore obstacles. Rutted and muddy in places. Travel with another vehicle in case you get stuck. Suitable for aggressive, stock, highclearance, 4-wheel-drive SUVs. Some experience recommended. Going uphill is more difficult. Special caution: Road is narrow at Windy Point. Cliff edge is loose gravel, very close to road and hidden by weeds. You may not recognize the danger until it is too late. Best to leave kids and pets inside vehicle. Adults need to be extremely careful walking around.
