Two other towns in the Flathead Valley, Columbia Falls and Hungry Horse, are great places to visit on your way to Glacier National Park. Columbia Falls is at the north end of the Flathead Valley and has one of the world’s largest aluminum extrusion plants. Hungry Horse is 5 miles beyond Glacier Park and through narrow Badrock Canyon. If you need a break en route to Glacier National Park or just want some entertainment, there are varied roadside attractions on U.S. Highway 2 between Columbia Falls and West Glacier. Look for go-cart tracks, gift shops featuring Indian art and nature items, a maze with bumper boats and other activities, and a trout pond, to name a few. The town of Columbia Falls also has some imagination for different tourist attractions—you’ll find the multi-activity Just for Fun attraction on the west end of town as well as the Montana Wildlife Museum. This eTrail provides detailed information on family-friendly things to do. The destinations include: Pinewood Park, Maranette Park, House of Mystery, and North American Wildlife Museum.
