The Petrified Forest Interpretive Trail begins at the west end of Tom Miner Campground. The trail leads to a line of sculpted volcanic cliffs and caves with petrified tree and fossil remains. In one cave, a petrified tree protrudes from the ceiling. From the cliffs are awesome views up and down the Trail Creek drainage.
