The Bacon Rind Creek Trail is the only hike inside Yellowstone that heads west from the Gallatin Valley. The flat easy trail parallels the meandering Bacon Rind Creek through a valley surrounded by high mountain peaks. Moose, elk and grizzly bears frequent the meadow. Beyond the western park boundary, the trail enters the Lee Metcalf Wilderness in the Gallatin National Forest.
