The Everchanging Forest Nature Trail borders the Swan River by the Condon Ranger Station in Upper Swan Valley. The trail follows a section of the original road through Swan Valley, abandoned in the late 1 950s. The old roadbed leads through an evergreen forest on Smith Flats. A side path leads to a channel of the Swan River under towering cottonwoods. Another side path weaves through an old logging site. The self-guided interpretive trail describes the forces of nature in a forest and how insects, birds, and animals affect the decaying trees.
