The Lee Creek Interpretive Trail begins from the Lee Creek Campground and loops through the forested hillside above Lee Creek. Don’t let the words “interpretive trail” deter you from this hike. It is a fascinating and informative trail. Twenty descriptive panels identify ponderosa pine, lodgepole pine, and Douglas fir trees. The panels explain, with examples, the effects of logging, lightening, fire, birds, decay, and deterioration upon the trees. An interpretive brochure is available at the trailhead and at the Forest Service visitor centers.
