A short day hike - with a major river ford - to the shores of a large, glacier-fed lake in the Bow Valley, just west of the Icefields Parkway, about 11 miles (18 km) north of the junction with the Trans-Canada Highway in Banff National Park. Highlights include fishing, fording the Bow River, views of the Waputik Range and Balfour Pass. This hike is down in the valley below the Continental Divide, but is one of the more interesting rambles in the area, offering views of the divide and surrounding peaks.
