The Targhee Creek Trail parallels Targhee Creek to alpine Clark and Edwards Lakes near the headwaters of Targhee Creek. The trail follows the drainage between Targhee Peak to the west and Bald Peak to the east before joining the Continental Divide trail. This hike meanders up the first 2.5 miles of the canyon along Targhee Creek thorough meadows and pine forests. Throughout the hike, Targhee Peak rises like a monolith high above the trail.
