The Red Canyon Trail leads to the Cabin Creek Wildlife Management Area of the Lee Metcalf wilderness. The trail follows Red Canyon Creek past the Red Canyon Fault, a 20-foot break in the southern slopes of Kirkwood Ridge. The fault was created in 1959 during the Madison River canyon earthquake. Near the Kirkwood Ridge, there are scenic views back down the canyon.
