Daly Creek is the northernmost drainage in Yellowstone National Park. The hike makes a gradual ascent up the scenic valley, crossing the rolling meadows and open hillsides parallel to Daly Creek. The hillsides are fringed with aspens and Douglas firs. The impressive Crown Butte, Lava Butte and King Butte formations are prominent throughout the hike. To the northeast is the Sky Rim Ridge.
