Lady of the Lake sits in a serene, forested bowl surrounded by mountains at 8,800 feet. To the north and south of the 42-acre lake are meadows filled with wildflowers. Lady of the Lake Creek flows through the meadows and joins with the Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone. The forested trail to the lake crosses Fisher Creek, passes several old log cabins, and enters the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness. This is the beginning of the hike to Lower and Upper Aero Lakes.
