A long day hike or backpack from Cameron Lake to Waterton townsite to Bertha Lake, 3.5 miles (5.5km) one way. This popular day hike from Waterton townsite follows the shore of Upper Waterton Lake, then climbs a side valley past waterfalls to reach an alpine lake. For travelers that make the climb to the lake, a campground offers opportunities for a short overnighter. The trail begins in a stand of aspens, climbing gradually as it follows the western shore of Upper Waterton Lake.As the trail rises above the lakeshore, there is a mixed forest of lodgepole pine, fir, and mountain maple.
