This is a half-day hike from Logan Pass to Hidden Lake Overlook, 1.5 miles (3.5 km) one way; or from Logan Pass to Hidden Lake, 3.0 miles (5 km) one way. The trail to Hidden Lake provides one of the quickest access routes to the high country in Glacier Park. It starts as a boardwalk that climbs moderately through fields of wildflowers to Hidden Lake Pass, in the shadow of Clements Mountain. From the pass, Reynolds Mountain dominates the southern skyline, while Bearhat Mountain rises on the far side of islet-strewn Hidden Lake. A third of a mile farther is an overlook point, from which the trail descends almost 700 feet to the north shore of the lake, which is reputed to contain large but wary cutthroat trout. A mountaineers’ route begins at the south end of the lake, skirting the base of the cliffs along the Continental Divide and then dropping into Floral Park and crossing below the Sperry Glacier to Comeau Pass.
