A backpack from Bowman Lake to Brown Pass. The Bowman Lake Trail may be used as a backpack in itself or in conjunction with the Boulder Pass Trail for extended trips. The trail winds past Bowman Lake before ascending a U-shaped valley carved by a glacier between rugged peaks. Ultimately, the trail climbs down to Brown Pass, where views of peaks and glaciers can be seen in all directions. Halfway to the pass the forest opens into brushy meadows with babbling brooks and small waterfalls.
