A day trek to the top of the highest peak in the Bridger Range. Hundreds, if not thousands, of Bozeman-area residents have climbed Sacajawea Peak. Here is your chance to find out why. Pack the car with a picnic lunch. Bring water:You won’t find any along this route. Find the trailhead and note the massive furrowed limestone on the east face of Sacajawea Peak just above the lake.The route,Trail 534, is a 2.5-mile, 2,000-foot, Category H climb that goes right to the top of Sacajawea Peak. First you climb tothe saddle between Sacajawea Peak and Hardscrabble Peak, where you take the trail to the left (south) and follow its twists and turns up to the top.
