On the banks of Pickwick Reservoir, just below the base of the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Wilson Dam, you’ll find a rustic little camping spot. The Wilson Dam–Lower Rockpile Campground, a selfservice primitive facility, has only 23 sites, but what makes it special is the water access, premium bird-watching opportunities, and a great little hiking path, the Rockpile Trail.
