Just a few miles from busy Interstate 10 is Florida’s highest waterfall. The main feature of this 171-acre park is just one of several short walks that reveal Florida’s topography and how it was formed, from top to bottom. All of the walks are easy and ideally suited for young children since each has something of unusual interest. Combining the Falls, Sinkhole, and Wiregrass Trails together results in a very short walk. But this is a part of Florida rarely seen despite its close proximity to one of the major interstates. And the topography here combines all the best attributes of the Panhandle in a very small area. No wonder this remarkable location is one of Florida’s oldest state parks.
