Frosty Mountain is located in the Chattahoochee National Forest, a short distance from Amicalola Falls State Park. To hike this loop in a counterclockwise direction, start at the Amicalola Falls visitor center and follow the blue-blazed Approach Trail for 1.1 miles to the top of Amicalola Falls near Amicalola Lodge. There is a parking area here that eliminates the 700-foot ascent if you wish to shorten this hike and make it easier. From the lodge, the Approach Trail crosses the road at the 1.2-mile mark and enters the woods. After a short distance, it meets a yellow-blazed side trail at the 1.4-mile mark, on the right, which leads to the Len Foote Hike Inn. Begin a gradual ascent, winding northeast through a forest of hardwood trees.
