This is the second oldest state park in Georgia. Located amid Chattahoochee National Forest on land donated by Fred Vogel, the park makes the most of its mountain environs. One look at the campground will tell you that. The campground is great for tent campers, due to the 18 walk-in campsites, plus a loop exclusively for tents, vans, and pop-up campers. Hikers love to tackle the trails that traverse the mountains; when they return to their campsite, they still feel at one with nature, as the campground is integrated into the sylvan scenery.
