The campgrounds included in this eTrail are Lake Winfield Scott, Dockery Lake, Vogel State Park, DeSoto Falls, Waters Creek, Lake Chatuge, Chattahoochee River, Andrews Cove, Unicoi State Park, Tate Branch, Sandy Bottom, Tallulah River, Moccasin Creek State Park, Rabun Beach, Lake Russell, Black Rock Mountain State Park, Tallulah Gorge State Park, Willis Knob, and Tugaloo State Park. Located in the northern part of the state, the Mountains Region offers campers plenty of unique opportunities to experience regional mountain terrain and culture. Isolated backwoods, primitive campgrounds, and nicely appointed lakeside campgrounds with all the amenities are available here. Leaf watchers will enjoy the area in fall, and those wishing to escape from the heat of the lower elevations will find relief here in summer. Spring in the north Georgia mountains is an experience unto itself, and winter can be magical.
